The Joe's Pond Ice Out started as a Northeast Kingdom Tradition back in 1988 when, after some 20 years a hand full of men living on Joe's pond decided to start a competition out of something they had been doing for years. The Competition - who can guess when the ice will finally melt on Joe's Pond in West Danville, Vermont.
